Physical Therapy

One of the most effective treatments for back/neck and/or leg/arm pain is rest with proper physical therapy.

A well trained spinal therapist can significantly help with the pain associated with spinal injury or inflammation. Proper exercises are key in the recovery from any type of spinal problem.

Proper physical therapy, however, is much more than having a patient do some exercises and placing a hot/cold pack on the patients back at the end of the session. Well trained therapist spend extra time teaching the patients the proper bio mechanics [ie: correct posture], the most effective home exercises and stretching routines to minimize nerve root irritation.

Certified therapist may also use traction [especially for the neck] and manipulation to help patients with their pain and nerve irritation. Although therapy seems to be most effective in the early stages of disease, therapy is amongst the first line of treatment for spinal problems.
